I scheduled a move through Spartan Van Lines for 6/14/2018. Movers arrived 4 hours late, destroyed the door of the storage facility building, and refused to provide insurance options. Forced me to sign an empty contract and then threatened to not move my belongings if I didn’t provide them with an extra cash payment of over $2000 on hand that day— without explanation or having it be in the contract. Movers then called Isaac Zait who was supervising them. He demanded I then send him a personal blank check without name of Spartan van Lines to his home address in Miami if I was to ever see my things again. They refused to provide me with a contract, but I snapped a photo of the Bill of Leeding and the check. I notified Spartan Van Lines of the situation and they told me to withhold payment until delivelry of goods. 1.5 months later neither American Eagle or Spartan have any knowledge of where my stuff is. American Eagle didn’t even know I was a customer or ahd an account with them- despite my Bill of Leeding being from them and there is a record of the damage they did to the storage facility the day of the move. Every time I call, I get hung up on and nobody has answers. The movers who worked the job were fired shortly after and have told me Spartan & American know what is gonig on but they just refuse to tell me. The only number that connects the movers, the pick up date, and Spartan is Isaac Zait. His number was given to me by the head of customer service at Spartan and it is his home address where I was supposed to send the cash. I texted the movers this week who told me that he had my stuff in Florida. I received the same message from customer service. Since he is not responding to the company or the consumer, I’m fairly certain this is a scam to steal people’s belongings because that is exactly what is being done with mine. He has literally stolen my whole life.
