Complaint: last week 9/22/2015, i took my 2005 nissan maxima to Midas as ‘Service engine light’ was On.. Midas guys says it might be due to oil service & they will check and inform. For diagnosing the code only they will charge me $70.. i left my car and went to office… after couple of hours they call me & said.. i have to change the break pads, car control arms, struts, motor mounts & camshaft position sensor.. i asked what is the mandatory thing.. they said.. break pad & car control arms, struts & camshaft position sensor.. which will cost me around 2600$ but they wil do it in 2399 plus tax.. (which was around 2518$)… i didn’t had the option so said yes.. they didn’t gave me the car on the same day & told that i can come tomorrow wednesday 9/23 to collect the same.. They call on wednesday to inform car is ready & can take my car.. they said.. it’s in very good shape now and i should not be worry too much.. i drove home (which is less than 1 mile from Midas).. and drove less in next 3-4 days (harldy 10-15 miles).. On Monday 9/28 engine service light again came up (code was P0731) so, i thought to chekc with Midas.. Midas told that it’s transmission issue & they wont work on transmission.. leaving me in middle of nothing & took almost 2600$ ( & before 2000$ for other mechanical repairs)… i have all the bill/check from Midas.. wanted to know how can they do such thing.. I bought this car for $5000 and spent almost $5000 more to fix the same.. please help me.
