Platinum Automotive LLC:: Dave Rensink Macy Nebraska

Complaint: I traded my car in for $2000 on New years eve and was expected to have insurance at the end of the day on the first. The insurance agency was obviously not open on the first and the dealer was not clear that it was an immediate action that I needed to do at the time of trade in. I contacted the dealership and notified them that I could not get the insurance right away and that it would be done the following week along with my first payment. Few days later they came to my job to repo. But since I live on the reservation they had to have police at the time of repo and notify me. I then told them that since the weather was so bad and the car could not make it anywhere in the snow and ice I was not driving the car and it was parked. So Dave the guy who came to repo wanted to take a picture of the miles and just said his “boss”” was getting on him about the insurance and shook my hand and that was it they did not repo at that time. He did not specifically say not to drive the car AT ALL and even if he did how can someone say not to drive the car that’s in YOUR name. A few hours go by and I got home from work with 2 sick kids that needed to be taken to the ER. The ER I went to was a 15-20 minute drive and they followed me from home all the way to the ER. Within that time of being at the ER I was texting the dealer I had initially dealt with saying if they were trying to repo that soon that I did not want to do business with them and that I wanted my car that I traded in and I will give them the car back. He told me that they had already taken the car while I was still in the ER with my kids. I was stranded 15-20 min away from home with my sick kids. If they were going to repo they should’ve done so at the time when the police was present they should have not harrassed me by watching my house waiting for me to leave and following me to the ER. Now I have no transportation because they said they sold the car that I traded in and they will not give me any money for what they took my for a trade in which was the $2000.”
