7/29/17 we purchased $1675.00 worth of furniture. We advised him that we needed to have everything delivered and set up before 8/16 or we won’t make the purchase. My son was graduating from the United States Coast Guard 8/18/17. Skip knew this when we were making our purchase and knew we were emotionally vaunerable. He made promise after promise on getting our furniture to us in time. He advised that it shouldn’t take that long, so we placed the order. We never heard from this company until I started making phone calls to them to find out where my furniture was. There were multiple back and forth coversations regarding a number of issues. 1) the headboard didn’t come in. 2) upon delivery they tell me the tall chest of drawers was broke. 3) they didn’t call before delivering (I was at a funeral and they were sitting in my driveway) 4) they promised to come out 8/20/17 to bring the headboard and set up the bed. Upon calling the store Skip tells me that he is by himself and that everyone is out of town. He promised on 8/14/17 that he would be out personally on 8/20 to set it all up, and now he’s alone in the store? 5) Upon discussing the original issue prior to 8/16 I advised him that we wanted our money back and he said there where no refunds or returns. I advised them that all companies take returns and he said no. I told him that this was never disclosed to us and that they were holding my money hostage for a product that I don’t have. They offered to refund the $70 delivery fee. At this point I still do not have over $800 of the furniture I purchased from this company. This is deceptive, abusive and intentional. After researching other complaints online, I can see that I am not alone in how this company treats their customers.
